Terms of service

The terms under which SpeakMany provides live translation at your event. Short, because the arrangement is simple.

What we provide

SpeakMany is a service. For an agreed event, we bring the equipment, configure it for your languages, set up alongside your AV team, and operate the system for the duration. We are not licensing you software and you are not installing anything.

What we need from you

What the service does and does not guarantee

Automatic speech recognition and machine translation are not perfect, and quality varies by language, by speaker and above all by audio quality. We do not warrant that output will be free of errors.

SpeakMany is not a substitute for a human interpreter. For legal proceedings, medical consent, contract negotiation or anything where a misunderstanding carries real cost, engage a qualified interpreter. We will tell you when we think that is the right call.

Booking and cancellation

Bookings are confirmed in writing with a scope, a date and a fee. Terms for deposits, changes and cancellation are set out in that confirmation rather than here, because they vary with the size and timing of the event.

Confidentiality

We treat everything said at your event as confidential. Our staff do not discuss or reproduce it. Transcripts are handed to you and removed from our equipment as described in our privacy notice.

Liability

Our liability in connection with an event is limited to the fee paid for that event. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
